Join us Sunday, May 2nd at 12:45pm at the new Hard’ack Lodge to ready our trails for another great season of riding. This year, we will be partnering with other trail users at Hard’ack across the recreation area and trails as part of Green Up Day (Weekend) celebration. It will be a fun event with lots to do!

This year we are focusing on trail maintenance and the construction of new features.

FCMTBC focused projects include:

  • low bridge/boardwalk construction on “Root of All Evil” trail wet corner
  • raking out & brush trimming the lower trails
  • annual maintenance of the pump track
  • rock-guarding on Ledge Trail
  • removal of blowdown
  • if you don’t have tools, we will need people to carry our lumber & materials to the bridge site from the Radio Tower parking area.

Tools required for the Work Day

Work Days work best when everyone is able to bring a tool or two to help out. Here are the tools we will be looking for on Green Up Day: iron rake, leaf rake, brush cutter, pointed shovel, crowbar, prybar, hammer, battery powered drill/circular saw, wheelbarrow, Pickaxe, Mcleod digging tool, (Star point screws provided for construction).

Recommended attire

Safety is always a priority, even off the bike. When performing maintenance on the trails, it is important to wear the proper gear. This includes: work gloves, close-toed shoes, and long sleeve shirts.

Bottled water will be provided.

This should be a fun team event, and a chance to meet your fellow club members and riders. If weather permits we will take a well-deserved ride after completing the work so bring your bike and join us.
